Helping Teens Build Confidence, Resilience, and Hope
Hi, I’m Jack — an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping teenagers feel better, understand themselves, and move forward — even when life feels overwhelming.
If you’re here because you’re worried about your teen, I want you to know you’re not alone — and you’re already taking a powerful step by looking for the right support. I know how much you want your child to feel like themselves again. I’m here to help make that happen.
I’ve worked with teens facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with this pivotal stage of life.
Why Teens Like Working With Me
I know most teens aren’t counting down the days until their first therapy session — and I don’t expect them to show up ready to talk.
My first priority is making sure they feel safe — like they can be themselves without fear of judgment. I take a laid-back, straightforward approach that blends warmth, humor, and honesty. I’m not here to lecture or tell anyone how they should feel — I’m here to help them figure out what’s really going on beneath the surface and what would actually help them start feeling better.
Some sessions are about sorting through tough emotions. Others are more focused on learning practical tools to manage anxiety, calm racing thoughts, or handle conflict without shutting down. Every session looks a little different — because every teen is different.
What Parents Can Expect
As a mom, I know how hard it is to watch your child struggle — to feel like you’ve tried everything and still not know how to reach them.
My role isn’t to take over or tell you how to parent — it’s to offer steady, consistent support in a way that helps your teen feel better and strengthens your relationship along the way.
I’ll keep you in the loop without breaking your teen’s trust — helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and giving you tools to support your child at home.
Why I Do This Work
My passion for working with teens comes from my own experience. When I look back on my own adolescence, I know how much I would have benefited from having someone to help me process everything I was going through. That perspective gives me a deep sense of purpose in offering teens the support I wish I had at that age.
As a parent myself, I understand how hard it is to watch your child struggle and how much you want to find the right person to help. I genuinely admire the parents who walk through our doors, seeking support for their family. It takes courage to trust someone with your child’s well-being, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
My Approach
No two teens are the same — so therapy shouldn’t be either. I tailor my approach based on what will work best for your teen, blending different modalities depending on their needs.
Some of the tools I use include:
- EMDR & Brainspotting — for processing trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming experiences
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — to untangle anxious thoughts and build healthier patterns
- Mindfulness & Coping Skills — to help regulate emotions and feel more in control
- Honest Conversations — to help teens feel heard without pressure or judgment
Whether we’re working on managing anxiety, processing trauma, or building emotional regulation skills, my goal is to empower teens to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
What I Want You to Know
As hard as things might feel right now, I believe with the right support, your teen can get better and your family can find more peace. You’re not alone in this. I’m here to partner with you and your teen every step of the way.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I would be honored to walk alongside your family on this journey.
